WOLF according to old beliefs is a creation of the Devil, but its spirit has been given by God. It was believed that the wolf could cast spells on the herder and his dog to doze off while watching the reindeer. When making contact with the spirits, the shaman sometimes even wore a wolf-skin cloak.
